About Our Products

We offer two types of pieces:

  1. Handmade, vintage, antique, or upcycled vessels and candles

  2. New, commercially made products like branded candles, matches, and accessories

Vintage and handmade pieces naturally come with unique variations in color, patina, or shape. These characteristics make each item special and are not considered defects.

Commercial items follow normal production variations (color, texture, finish) and may differ slightly from photos depending on lighting and screen settings.

Candle Use & Safety

For a safe and enjoyable experience:

  • Always burn candles under supervision

  • Burn for 2–3 hours at a time

  • Trim the wick to ¼ inch

  • Keep away from children, pets, and flammable objects

  • Place on a stable, heat-resistant surface

  • Stop use if the vessel becomes too hot or damaged

  • Leave 1 cm (½ inch) of wax at the bottom

Delivery & Shipping

We currently ship only to the following locations:
• Canada: Québec, Ontario, and British Columbia
• United States: New York
• France: Paris
• United Kingdom: London

Estimated delivery times:

• Canada: 3–15 business days
• USA (New York): 3–20 business days
• France (Paris): 3–5 weeks
• United Kingdom (London): 3–5 weeks

Customs fees, VAT, and import charges are not included in product prices and remain the customer’s responsibility.

Once a package is marked “Delivered” by the carrier, House of Eugénie cannot be responsible for theft, loss, or misdelivery.

Local Pick-Up (Montréal Only)

If you prefer to pick up your order:

  • Your order will be ready within 5 business days

  • Pick-up must be scheduled by email

  • Payment can be completed at the atelier if you choose pickup

  • Exact location is shared once your order is ready

 

Damage on Arrival

If your item arrives damaged, please contact us within 48 hours with:

  • Clear photos of the damaged item

  • Photos of the box and packaging

  • Confirmation that all packaging was kept

This allows us to properly assess your claim and assist you.

 

Returns & Exchanges

Our products fall into two categories:

Final Sale Items

These items cannot be returned or refunded:

  • Handmade, vintage, antique, or one-of-a-kind pieces

  • Candles that have been lit or used

  • Customized or altered items

  • Items showing normal vintage wear

  • Items damaged after delivery

Commercial Items

Some new, commercially manufactured items may be eligible for:

  • return

  • exchange

  • store credit

To qualify, items must be:

  • unused

  • unlit

  • unaltered

  • in their original condition

  • returned within the timeframe listed on your order confirmation

Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless noted otherwise.

 

Refills & Custom Vessel Services

We offer: Refill Services

Available only for selected non-commercial vessels, subject to approval.

Custom Vessel Candle Creation

You may request to have your own vessel transformed into a candle.
Approval depends on materials, safety, and compatibility.

All refill or custom-vessel requests must be confirmed by email before any drop-off or shipment.

Composition & Scent Information

Our candles are intentionally unscented to highlight the beauty of the flame and the vessel.
They may be made with:

  • natural soy wax

  • soy blends

  • beeswax blends

The exact composition is displayed on each product page.

Unscented candles may carry a light natural wax aroma, which can vary slightly between batches.

 

Intellectual Property

All original content on our website—including photos, descriptions, branding, and creative assets—belongs to House of Eugénie.

Any ambiance images used for aesthetic context are used in good faith.
We do not claim ownership and will remove any image upon request from the copyright holder.

 

Liability

We are not responsible for:

  • unsafe candle use

  • vessel overheating

  • customs or carrier delays

  • theft after delivery confirmation

Liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.

 

Jurisdiction

  • Canada (Québec) for Canadian customers

  • Federal/state law for U.S. customers

  • Local consumer law for France & UK

When permitted, disputes are handled in Québec.

 

Payments

Currently accepted:

  • credit cards

  • debit cards

  • approved offline payments (including payment upon pickup)

Full payment must be made before shipment.
Payment on pickup is accepted at our Montréal atelier.

We are available 7 days a week by email.
Responses may take up to 48 hours.
Visits are by appointment only.
